Nightside on the waterfront is where this story begins. Nightside Distillery was born on the docks of Seattle with a long history of working hard, getting the job done, and doing so with enthusiasm. Following these core values help them create the best spirits possible.
Founder Tom Greene says that coming up with a name was the hard part. He knew it needed to represent the business and convey his outlook on how it should be run. Tom chose 'Nightside' because for years he worked nights on the docks, and that’s what they called it. The Nightside workers are a different breed. Things get done, and they get done efficiently with pride, quality (under any circumstance), and with a lot of fun and camaraderie.
After years of cooking and blending Tom developed what he believed to be the best Apple Pie possible, but something was missing: a quality spirit to blend it with. So he started a distillery. Nightside’s core foundation was made of a 15 gallon Boka still and a modest 440 square feet. His passion to create a truly world class spirit drove him, and utilizing the support of the community, as well as help from other distillers, he started possibly the smallest scale, lowest budget distillery imaginable.
Time went on and Tom developed a program to make a nationally ranked Gold medal Vodka. Knowing that he wanted to upscale, but would have to quit his day job to do so, he decided to start looking for partners. In 2014, the Bunk, Cathey, and Wortman families were bought in as equal working partners. In the short time they have been together, they have released an Apple Pie Moonshine and, just recently, the much anticipated Lemon Drop! Other projects on the horizon include gin, whiskey, and new vodka flavors. They know you will fall in love with their products just as much as they love making them! Nightside Distillery Spirits: from great people, distilling with passion. It's where the fun happens, Nightside!
