The idea for Wicked Dolphin Rum came after the owner, JoAnn Elardo, sold her business in Eastern Europe and began exploring what the local area around her Florida home had to offer. JoAnn knew over half of the sugar produced in the United States was produced in Florida, so after taking a sip of a horrible cocktail, she thought, 'Why don’t we have a great Florida rum?' Wanting to start her next business in an industry she was passionate about, JoAnn set to creating a quality product that she could be proud of.
Reaching the market in 2013, Wicked Dolphin is true to that vision. Clewiston area sugar, Cape Coral water, locally sourced fresh fruits, honey, and spices make up the all-natural Florida ingredients used in their Silver, Spiced, Coconut rums, as well as their proprietary RumShines in Strawberry, Blueberry, and Apple Pie. Wicked Dolphin rum is distilled 10 times, resulting in an exceedingly pure product with a sugar-to-alcohol yield lower than that of larger rum manufacturers. Their emphasis on quality has earned them awards, but their local ingredients have made them 'Florida’s Rum.'
