Humboldt Distillery is located in small town in Humboldt County. Humboldt County is home to the world’s tallest trees, unusually long stretches of undeveloped coastline, pristine rivers and a forest as old as the dinosaurs. The watershed that Humboldt Distillery draws from originates in Humboldt’s old growth forests.
Abe Stevens founded Humboldt Distillery as a result of his affinity for chemistry and process improvement, and his love for Humboldt County. A fifth-generation Humboldt native, Stevens graduated from Fortuna High School then attended the University of Chicago where he received degrees in chemistry and biochemistry. After college, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry doing research and development. He also became an accomplished tournament poker player and a successful real estate investor, but found his true passion in making organic spirits for his hometown.

Classic Bloody Mary


Ingredients:
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 pinch celery salt
  • 2 dashes hot sauce
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 oz. Humboldt Distillery Vodka or Humboldt’s Finest
  • 2 tsp. horseradish
  • 4 oz. tomato juice
Directions:
In highball glass, stir together ingredients. Fill glass with ice, then pour mixture into second glass. Pour back and forth 3 to 4 times to mix well. Garnish to taste.

Emerald Peat


Ingredients:
  • .25 oz. Cynar
  • .25 oz. Sake
  • .50 oz. St. George Bruto Americano
  • 1 dash of lemon bitters
  • 2 oz. Humboldt’s Finest, flash infused with redwood needles
Directions:
Flash infuse Humboldt’s Finest with redwood needles, then mix with lemon bitters, St. George Bruto Americano, Cynar and sake.

Green Gardens


Ingredients:
  • .25 oz. Green Chartreuse
  • .5 oz. simple syrup
  • .75 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1.75 oz. Humboldt’s Finest
  • 1/4 of a small yellow bell pepper
  • Fresh oregano (3 leaves plus 1 stem for garnish)
Directions:
Add 1 heaping tbsp of chopped pepper to shaker, muddle well, add 3 slightly smashed (use fingers, to release oils) oregano leaves, Humboldt’s Finest, Green Chartreuse, lime and simple syrup. Add ice and shake vigorously, strain into a cocktail coupe. Garnish with oregano sprig and cut pepper wedge.

Hemp Highball


Ingredients:
  • 0.5 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 oz. jasmine simple syrup
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt’s Finest cannabis infused vodka
  • Ice
  • Seltzer water
  • Sliced cucumber
Directions:
Combine ingredients in a highball glass with ice, top with seltzer water, garnish with a slice of cucumber, and enjoy.\n>>>>\nJasmine Simple Syrup: \nCreate a strong tea using jasmine green tea bags at twice the suggested rate. Combine 1 part hot tea with 1 part sugar, mixing until dissolved.

High Thyme


Ingredients:
  • .5 oz. honey syrup
  • .75 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt’s Finest
  • 2 hearty sprigs of fresh thyme
Directions:
To prepare honey syrup, dissolve 2 parts honey in 1 part hot water, allow to cool. At bottom of cocktail shaker, add 1 sprig thyme, give a quick muddle, add Humboldt’s Finest, lime juice and honey syrup. Shake vigorously, strain into double old fashioned glass with ice, garnish with a hearty thyme sprig.

Humboldt Watermelon


Ingredients:
  • 1/3 – 1/2 cup Humboldt’s Finest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 generous cups watermelon
  • Ice
  • Simple syrup to taste
Directions:
Place watermelon and whatever juice comes from cutting it up into a blender. Puree. Add fresh lime juice and simple syrup to taste. Pulse. Add vodka, pulse, taste and adjust to taste. Fill glasses with ice and pour mixture over the top. Serves 2.

Humboldt's Bramble


Ingredients:
  • 0.5 oz. ginger syrup (recipe follows)
  • 0.75 oz. dry vermouth
  • 2 oz. Humboldt’s Finest Vodka
  • 5 blackberries
  • 5 cubes pineapple (fresh or canned)
Directions:
Muddle pineapple and blackberries in a shaker. Once well-muddled, add remaining ingredients and ice, then shake until very cold, about 20 seconds. Double strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with blackberries.\n>>>>\nGinger Simple Syrup: \nCombine 1 c. sugar, 1 c. water and a 2-inch knob of ginger, peeled and roughly chopped. Stir over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow the ginger to steep for at least one hour. Strain and refrigerate.

Octopus' Garden


Ingredients:
  • .5 oz. Cocchi Americano
  • .5 oz. Orgeat simple syrup
  • .5 oz. Passionfruit Liqueur
  • .75 oz. lime juice
  • 2 oz. Humboldt's Finest
  • 6 drops coconut vinegar
Directions:
Served tall over crushed ice and garnish with a lime wheel, mint, and shredded coconut!

Pacific Pom


Ingredients:
  • 0.5 oz. Campari
  • 0.5 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz. pomegranate juice
  • 0.75 oz. simple syrup
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt’s Finest Vodka
  • Dash orange bitters
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake until very cold, about 20 seconds. Strain into a coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

The Golden Beet


Ingredients:
  • .5 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • .75 oz. golden beet and honey cordial* (requires advanced preparation)
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt’s Finest
  • Roughly 5 tarragon leaves, muddled
Directions:
Combine muddled tarragon leaves, Humboldt’s Finest, golden beet and honey cordial, and fresh squeezed lemon juice. Shake with ice and poured through a strainer. Garnish with tarragon leaf. *Prepare cordial by macerating the shredded beet with honey and sugar for a period of three days. Strain the resulting liquid and use like a syrup.

Mojito


Ingredients:
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1.5 oz. Organic Original Rum
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 6 mint leaves
  • Soda water
Directions:
Gently muddle mint with sugar and lime juice. Add rum and stir. Top with crushed ice and soda water. Garnish with mint and lime.

Eggnog

Add Humboldt Distillery Spiced Rum to your favorite eggnog.

Ginger & Spice


Ingredients:
  • 2 oz. Humboldt Distillery Organic Spiced Rum
  • 3 oz. ginger beer
  • Lime wedge
Directions:
Fill tall glass with ice. Add spiced rum and ginger beer, stir gently and garnish with lime.

Spiced Cider


Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt Distillery Organic Spiced Rum
  • 3/4 cup Apple cider
  • Orange slice
Directions:
Heat a mug of apple cider, add spiced rum, stir, and garnish with orange.

Spiced Rum Sour


Ingredients:
  • 0.75 oz. spiced syrup (recipe follows)
  • 1 oz. fresh orange juice
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt Distillery Organic Spiced Rum
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, then shake until very cold, about 20 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice, and garnish with grated fresh nutmeg or cinnamon.\n>>>>\nSpiced Simple Syrup: \nCombine 1 c. sugar, 1 c. water, 4 whole star anise, 1 tsp cloves, .5 tsp fennel seeds, and 1 cinnamon stick, crushed into bark shards. Stir over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to steep for at least 2 hours, ideally 4+ hours (or overnight!). Strain and refrigerate.

Apple Cider Mule


Ingredients:
  • 0.5 oz. ginger syrup (recipe follows)
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt Distillery Organic Vodka
  • 2 oz. apple cider
  • Splash of seltzer
Directions:
Build all ingredients over ice in a copper mug, stir well, and garnish with lime or apple wedges.\n>>>>\nGinger Simple Syrup: \nCombine 1 c. sugar, 1 c. water and a 2-inch knob of ginger, peeled and roughly chopped. Stir over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow the ginger to steep for at least one hour. Strain and refrigerate.\n

Foggy Mary


Ingredients:
  • 1 jig Humboldt Distillery vodka
  • 1 tbsp. Humboldt Hotsauce Emerald Sauce
  • 1 tsp. horseradish
  • 1/2 fresh squeezed lime
  • Fresh Cilantro
  • Green Olive(s)
  • Pinch of celery salt
  • Pinch of salt & pepper
  • Tomato Juice
Directions:
After adding ingredients to glass, fill with tomato juice and garnish with cilantro and olive (recipe courtesy of Humboldt Hotsauce).

Moscow Mule


Ingredients:
  • 1 Mint Sprig
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt Distillery Vodka
  • 1/4 Lime
  • 4 oz. Ginger Beer
Directions:
Pour vodka and ginger beer into tumbler over ice. Squeeze lime and drop into glass. Garnish with mint sprig.

Redwood Joe


Ingredients:
  • 0.75 oz. cinnamon-orange syrup (recipe follows)
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt Distillery Organic Vodka
  • 2 oz. cold brew or chilled espresso
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, and shake until very cold, about 20 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice, and garnish with grated fresh nutmeg or cinnamon.\n>>>>\nCinnamon-Orange Syrup: \nCombine 1 c. sugar, 1 c. water, the peel AND juice of 1 orange, and 1 cinnamon stick, crushed into bark shards. Stir over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow the orange and cinnamon to steep for at least 2 hours, ideally 4+ hours (or overnight!). Strain and refrigerate.\n

Strawberry Basil Lemonade


Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt Distillery Organic Vodka
  • 3 large hulled strawberries
  • 3 oz. lemonade
  • 5 basil leaves
  • Club soda
Directions:
Muddle 2 strawberries and 4 basil leaves. Fill with ice and set aside. Add the vodka and lemonade to a shaker and fill with fresh ice. Shake, and strain into the prepared glass. Top with a splash of club soda and garnish with a strawberry and a basil leaf.

Two-Toned


Ingredients:
  • Butterfly Pea Flower Tea
  • Fresh Lime Juice
  • Fresh Watermelon Juice
  • Lemongrass-Sumac Simple Syrup
  • Organic Vodka
Directions:
Combined ingredients and enjoy!

Vodka Cranberry


Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz. Humboldt Distillery Organic Vodka
  • 4 oz. cranberry juice
  • Lime garnish
  • Optional: splash sparkling water or ginger ale
Directions:
Pour the ingredients into a glass filled with ice. Stir. Garnish with lime. (If you’d like some spritz, top with a splash of sparkling water or ginger ale.)
