In the autumn of 2010, Brant Braue’s brother asked him, "If you could wake up tomorrow and do anything, what would it be?" After a few days he had an answer, and after a few months he decided that dream could be a reality. And so Jersey Artisan Distilling was born.
Many months of hard work helped Jersey Artisan Distilling become the first New Jersey distillery since Prohibition ended. They focus on making their spirits in the classic style, using modernized versions of techniques that have made spirits great since colonial times. Jersey Artisan Distilling’s primary focus is on James FC Hyde Sorgho Whiskey, 'a whiskey like no other' distilled from 100% American Sorghum.

Busted Cherry


Ingredients:
  • 1 bottle Mexican Coke (the good kind with sugar, not corn syrup)
  • 1 shot Cherry Brandy
  • 1/2 shot grenadine
  • 2 shots Busted Barrel Dark Rum
  • 5 cherries (without pits)
Directions:
Gently smash the cherries in the bottom of a Tall Collins Glass. Add ice to the glass. Pour all other ingredients into the glass. Stir until well mixd. Garnish with a fresh or maraschino cherries.

Jersey Girl Mojito


Ingredients:
  • 1 shot Busted Barrel Silver Rum
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 tsp. raw sugar
  • 3 mint or basil leaves
  • 3-5 strawberries, chopped
  • 8 blueberries
  • Club soda
Directions:
Muddle together the strawberries and blueberries. Add the Busted Barrel Silver Rum, the mint or basil leaves, the sugar and lime juice. Muddle again until briefly. Pour into a tall Collins glass over ice and top with club soda. Garnish with a wedge of lime.

Jersey Summer Smash


Ingredients:
  • 1 shot Blue J Syrups Elderflower & Lemon
  • 1 shot Busted Barrel Silver Rum
  • 6 Blackberries
  • Ginger ale (or blackberry flavored ginger ale if you can find it)
Directions:
Muddle together the Busted Barrel Silver Rum, the Blue J Syrup and the blackberries in the bottom of a rocks glass. Add ice and ginger ale and stir until well blended. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

Jersey Fresh


Ingredients:
  • 2 shots Blue J Syrups (any flavor you like, they're all delicious)
  • 2 shots Busted Barrel Rum (Silver or Dark, whichever you prefer)
  • Club soda
Directions:
Fill a rocks glass with ice. Add Busted Barrel Rum and Blue J Syrups and stir together. Top with club soda, give it one last stir and enjoy! This also makes a great, easy punch for large groups. Fill a punchbowl with ice. Pour in 1 bottle of Busted Barrel Rum and 2 bottles of Blue J Syrups. Add 1-2 liters of club soda.

Busted Colada


Ingredients:
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp. shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup fresh pineapple
  • 2 tbsp. Cream of Coconut
  • 3 shots Busted Barrel Silver Rum
  • 8 oz. pineapple juice (preferably fresh)
Directions:
Fill a blender 3/4 full with ice (if you're feeling fancy, make your own ice from coconut water). Add all ingredients, and blend until smooth. Garnish with a cherry, a lime wedge and some additional shredded coconut.

Golden Spike


Ingredients:
  • 2 oz. James F.C. Hyde Sorgho Whiskey
  • 1.5 oz. Carapano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth
  • .5 oz. Sorghum Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Orange Peel
Directions:
Add large ice cubes to an empty rocks glass. Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and stir. Strain into rocks glass and garnish with orange peel.
