BigFish Distilleries Win Big

When it comes to craft spirits, one organization stands above all others. Not one particular distillery or a particular distiller, but an institution. Or to be more specific, an institute. The American Distilling Institute (ADI), the premiere USA trade organization for craft distillers. And it’s only natural that the premiere organization for craft spirits is also the authority when it comes to judging craft spirits.

In 2005, the (ADI) formed the Judging of Craft Spirits in order to properly recognize excellence in a glass. Since that time, the ADI judges have relied on their experience and expertise to not only award medals for excellence, but also provide written feedback on every spirit entered in the competition, further validating their authority.

The 13th annual judging was held last week in Denver, Colorado. Over 2,000 industry experts were in attendance, along with more than 1,000 spirits to be judged. 664 spirits took home awards. Of those that took home either Best of Class, Best of Category, Double Gold, Gold, Silver, or Bronze, over 50 were spirits that partner with BigFish and are available throughout the state of Illinois through us.

Here are the spirits that took Best of Class, Best of Category, Double Gold, Gold, Silver, and Bronze:

Of course, this year’s ADI winners are not the only award-winning spirits you’ll find at BFspirits.com. BigFish carries hundreds of award-winning craft spirits that have won awards all over the world, including many ADI-award winners from years past. View the ADI Judging of Craft Spirits Awards webpage here to see all the winners since 2007.

Finally, some distilleries don’t enter all, or any, of their spirits in award competitions. Which means that many of them are unheralded gems. So we invite you to select the ones that sound good to you and treat yourself to your own private tasting competition. We believe you will find your own Best of Class on the BigFish website.
